List: Road closures for Petalpalooza, Cherry Blossom 10-Miler this weekend

See road closures for Saturday, April 5, 2025 and Sunday, April 6, 2025, for National Cherry Blossom Festival events

Several roads in the Navy Yard neighborhood of Southeast D.C. will be closed Saturday for Petalpalooza, a National Cherry Blossom Festival event, and around the Tidal Basin/National Mall for the Cherry Blossom 10-Mile RIn.

Police say the following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic and posted as Emergency No Parking this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.:

  • 3rd Street SE — between Tingey and Water streets SE
  • 4th Street SE — between Tingey and Water streets SE
  • 4th Street SE — between M Street and Tingey streets SE (southbound only)
  • Water Street SE — between 3rd and Tingey streets SE

Then, on Sunday, the following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic from about 6 a.m. to noon:

  • 1200 block of Maine Avenue SW
  • Maine Avenue from I-395 westbound to Independence Avenue SW
  • Theodore Roosevelt Bridge ramp to Ohio Drive NW
  • 9th Street Tunnel ramp to Maine Avenue SW
  • Virginia Avenue from 27th Street NW to Rock Creek Parkway
  • I Street from 27th Street to Rock Creek Parkway
  • Ohio Drive from 23rd Street to East Basin Drive SW
  • Independence Avenue between 14th and 23rd streets SW
  • Rock Creek Parkway from Ohio Drive to Virginia Avenue NW
  • East and West Potomac Parks
  • East Basin Drive SW
  • Raoul Wallenberg Place from 15th Street to Maine Avenue SW
  • Ramp from Memorial Circle to Ohio Drive SW
  • Homefront Drive SW
  • Daniel Chester French Drive from Independence Avenue to Lincoln Memorial Circle
  • Maine Avenue at ramp from East Basin Drive to Independence Avenue SW
  • 17th Street between Constitution Avenue NW and Independence Avenue SW
  • Parkway Drive NW between Lincoln Memorial Circle and Rock Creek Parkway
  • 15th Street NW between Constitution Avenue NW and Independence Avenue SW
  • Madison Drive between 14th and 15th streets NW
  • Jefferson Drive between 14th and15th streets SW

Street closures and listed times are subject to change, police said.

Drivers also should expect parking restrictions in those areas and follow to posted "Emergency No Parking" signs, police said. Any vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and towed, they said.

Drivers could hit delays around the festival and may want to consider alternate routes.

Planners of Petalpalooza suggest using the Capitol Riverfront Navy Yard Metro station and using the Department of Transportation exit.
